WellieWishers talks about the five girls, who named Willa, Camille, Emerson, Kendall, and Ashlyn. The five girls are best friends with each other, and they often play with each other in the garden. The book has colorful illustrations that catch students' attention, but the texts on each page are long for students for elementary students to read. This was not poorly written but the texture of the book is not that great.

I would rate this book two out of four, and I do not think that this book can be used in a classroom because students will not understand this book if they never watch about the Welliewishers. The poorly written text would make it difficult for students to comprehend. It is also morally wrong because the girls in this always dress up fancy, and own expensive things.

Decodable Book

Decodable Book
Nap and Pap would be a great decodable text to help children with "n" and "p" short vowel, "an" and "ap" word families, and "a" and "can" high-frequency words. It helps children with "n" and "p" consonants in addition to CVC words. The book has simple texts and less colorful illustrations so students will focus on their phonics skills. As students read this book they can sound out the CVC blends.
I would rate this book four out of four because I think this would be a great book to have in a classroom for the beginning readers to decode the texts.

Journey is a  wordless book talk about a lonely girl that drew a magic door in her bedroom and behind that door is a wonderful world that she can never guess. As she entered the magic door, she began to explore the wonderful world and create many wonderful things that she never did in her lonely world.

Through reading this book, children will get to see how the girl created a boat, a balloon, and a flying carpet. I would rate this book four out of four stars because I believe students will get to see a wonderful world that they never see before. this has received a Caldecott Medal right went the author published it. This book would be a great wordless picture book for children because they will be able to look at the pictures to do storytelling.

After a year published this book, Raschka received a Caldecott Medal for his writing illustration in the book. A Ball for Daisy talks about a dog named Daisy, who likes to play with a red ball, but when she plays with her red ball for while she then accidentally pops it. After Daisy lost the red ball, she has gone through a different emotion since the red is very important to him.

I would rate this book four to four because the book has colorful and meaningful illustrations for children to use their imagination to create a story from the book. It also helps children to have empathy with Daisy and the loss helps children to understand that sometimes they cannot keep up important things forever even though they love them. In addition, as I read this book, I really enjoy and love to make a story about Daisy out of this book.

Hello, World! Solar System

Solar System has a very cheerful and engaging cover. A book for children to learn about the solar system such as the sun, moon, stars, and planets, etc. This book has many colors, sizes, and shapes that children can learn how their world looks like. Simple facts are included on each page for readers to understand more about the solar system. It offers easy terms, featuring bright, and cheerful illustrations for beginner readers to have visuals of the solar systems as they read.

I  would give this book four out of four stars because I really like how the front cover is bright and delightful. The text is big, and the graphics are clear. This is a very high-quality book where babies can chew on the book, hard for toddlers to rip the pages, and the text fits well for beginning readers.

Welcome!

Hello,  I am Thi Nguyen. I am a senior in college and an Early Childhood Education at DeSales University. When I was growing up in Vietnam, I was always love reading, and I was not the child with a book at all times because my parents did not have money to buy books for me to read. I remembered before school starts my parents would buy me new textbooks, and I was always the one that read my literature book ahead. In the U.S., I started reading books during my free time and before bedtime. When I enter college, I always hesitated when I read a textbook since English is my second language and I could not comprehend the textbook fully. I always believed that reading is a journey and it a new journey for each I read a new book. Each book that I read gave me a lesson where I can apply the lesson to my everyday life.
I really this quote from Dr. Seuss because I believe this is what reading does to my life.
